The Law Of Worthiness

We are worthy far beyond measure and are more precious than fine Gold, Diamonds and Rubies.

Others will see the our value when we become aware of our divine right as a descendant of the All

and Mighty Source, God.

I remember experiencing my “first love in kindergarten.  His name was Steven and he was perfect

for me. Steven never pulled my hair, would often ask me to play a game of marbles, and to top it

off, he was the fastest runner in the whole class. He was my knight in shining armor.

Steven and I were not serious at first.  In fact, it was not until he one day announced, “There will

be a race durring recess for the girls.  The one who wins the race will be my girlfriend.”  I took my

position at the starting line and the words “on your mark, get set, go” were sounded. You could

not have knocked the smile off my face with an axe. Steven had to love me for I won the race.

All was well in the land of love until a week later when Steven announced again, “There will be a

race during recess for the girls.  The one who wins will be my girlfriend.”  My heart sank but I

foolishly positioned myself for yet another conquest. This time, I tripped and fell midway the

distance. A classmate named June, whom I did not care for, won that day. From that day forward

until the end of the semester, every time Steven announced an on coming race, amazingly, I

determined to measure up, compete and prove that I was worthy of love.

Unfortunately, I carried this perception of unworthiness with me into womanhood as have many

others – always feeling the need do outrageous things, deceive or compete just to be accepted

and loved. I am not sure exactly when and how I internalized such a destructive message of

unworthiness but that message obviously permeates the culture we live in on many levels.  It

seems that far too many are addicted to being something they are not in order to attract what is

already their divine right. Yes, it is a divine right to give love and receive love.

Scripture reminds us that we are created in the image of God. That interprets we have some

pretty powerful DNA blended with a creative force and super intelligence. As descendants of the

Almighty Source we are automatically entitled to all that is wonderful, great and joyful.  Love like

matter can be neither created nor destroyed for love is a principle. It is when we are sure of this

principle that the Stevens of the world would either shape up or ship out.
