Why Many Success Programs Fail – Debunking the Law of Attraction
Over the last few years there has been lots of discussion and books about the Law of Attraction. The most notable has been the phenomenon known as the Secret. Hours of television time has been devoted to it.
What is the Law of Attraction? The definition of the Law of Attraction says that you attract into your life whatever you think about. Your dominant thought will find a way to manifest.
So think about money and it shows up. Same with super models, yachts, Lamborghini’s etc. I guess then if you believe in this, if something shows up in your life, you thought about it. So you must have thought about that sickness, layoff or broken down car as well.
The reality is that the Law of Attraction is just not true. In order to be true, a scientific law must always apply under the same conditions. Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation is a good example of a law which always applies. In short everyone on earth that throws a tennis ball in the air will have it return to earth. If the Law of Attraction were truly a law, everyone who wished to be rich would be. Since they are not, there is no “law” of attraction. That is enough science for one ebook. Don’t waste anymore time worrying about the Law of Attraction and hoping it will deliver for you, it won’t. The Law of Attraction/Secret crowd are marketing people selling the American public a pipe dream. People want to believe “thoughts are things” Unfortunately they are not.
There is nothing wrong with thinking about the things you want, but it is the starting point not the ending point. You must be clear that desired outcomes are not plans and thoughts are not actions.
If thinking were totally effective we would all be millionaires with gorgeous dream spouses, multiple homes, yachts and private jets. Since we are all not, you can conclude that there must be more to achieving your dreams than thinking. This is very true, there is.
It is in a word Action.
Not that action guarantees your success, but a lack of action is virtually a guarantee of failure. Or put another way, circumstances usually change when you do. That change is to become action oriented and to learn to take action toward your desired outcomes. the ebook Desired Outcomes Implementation Technology is the link you need to learn to take effective action.

How To Make A Change – Adopt Principles Of Success
I’m sure you’d agree that most people look at the New Year as a time to make a change in their life. Unfortunately, they start out with grand ideas that somehow fall flat. They don’t follow through and they end up feeling guilty. Life goes on, round and round in the same old rut. So how do you make a change — how do you adopt the principles of success?
I’m sure you know that it takes 30 days (some say 21) to create a new habit. That means 30 days of investing time and self-discipline in change. Most people just don’t commit to the 30 day plan and that’s why they fail. Here’s a few steps that will help you make a change and adopt the principles of success.
Commit to a thirty-day program. This can be one you set for yourself or one you get involved with.
Budget the time needed to accomplish your new tasks – make sure you set enough time each day. You can do this by giving up an hour of television time each night.
Reinforce this by reading from a book or listening to a tape each day that supports the change you want to make.
Cut-out the negative influences – for thirty days — don’t allow yourself to wallow in negative emotions or thoughts — quit watching the news and reading the newspaper or talking to folks that are always complaining — this can bring you down
Get physical
– whether its a walk around the block, standing instead of sitting or an all-out exercise plan — just do it!
Set time for quiet reflection — your head doesn’t always need to be filled with cell phones, computer or other games. Take time to sit with your new processes and ideas.
Drink plenty of water at least 8 glasses a day. Water helps detox your body as well as replenishing your cells.
Reward yourself – give yourself a reward at the end of each week, a book you wanted, a movie you wanted to see, a new piece of clothing, whatever — provide yourself some incentive.
All in all if you just have the stick-to-it-ness for 30 days, a hour a day which equates to 1.4 days total, you can make radical changes in your life in just a month’s time. When you decide to just do it, you can make a change and adopt the principles of success for yourself.
I know how frustrating it is to not be where you want to be in life, but you must know that the only one who can do anything about it is YOU. Only you can live your life — no one can do that for you.
