How To Be A Happier Person
Happiness is a thing we all strive for, but at times it can seem very tough. Most of us equate happiness with something outside themselves, such as material goods, money or a great job. In addition, society can reinforce the idea of happiness being “out there” with several subtle, and not so delicate messages. If we lose weight, have whiter teeth, buy a new car, etc., i will be happier people. But in truth, happiness comes from within ourselves. It is just a mind-set that could be nurtured through greater self-awareness, recognition and appreciation.
Adjust your Attitude
As pointed out earlier, happiness is generally a way of thinking. In fact, studies have proven that optimistic people are usually happier people. But more than simply seeing the silver lining, optimists are apt to have a healthy sense of self-worth and see themselves included in a whole, rather than an isolated individual. So, take a look at how you view life. Instead of seeing yourself as a victim, realize that everyone has their personal struggles. The next time something bad happens in your lifetime, realize that it’s temporary and that things can change for the better. Learn to be accepting of who your are, and don’t be hard on yourself when you make mistakes. Instead, view them as valuable lessons and opportunities for growth.
Perform Random Acts of Kindness
Being kind to others not only helps them to feel wonderful, it forces you to feel a warm glow of happiness. Acts of kindness can also help us feel more connected with community, and the world, which creates an improved awareness of well-being. Acts of kindness can be anything from helping out a friend when they’re sick, doing volunteer work, or simply smiling at a stranger. Transform it into a habit to perform acts of kindness every day.
Have an Attitude of Gratitude
This ties in with the previous suggestion, and is because of consciously realizing the blessings in your lifetime. Write down what you’re grateful for by keeping a appreciation journal, or take note every day of what you’re thankful for in life. Gratitude is also something that’s can be shared, so show your appreciation through actions and words.
Set realistic goals, and Pursue Them
Studies have found that people who set goals, and reach those goals, tend to experience more positive feelings than those who don’t. Goals can give us a clearer awareness of where we’re going in life, and a satisfying awareness of accomplishment once the goal is reached. When setting goals, get them to realistic and suited to your needs.
Come out from the News
In our daily lives we’re exposed to a multitude of tragic, or hard luck stories through the news reports. While it may be wonderful to understand what’s going on in the world, too much news can leave us feeling stressed and overwhelmed. Wean yourself away from television news and online headlines, and replace this time with something more positive and meaningful.
Keep Your Sense of humor
A great sense of humor not only helps us be more positive, additionally, it may help us be better problem solvers and relate better with others. Having a sense of humor is different then ignoring one’s problems though. Instead, it’s a way to loosen the rigidity within whenever we feel burdened and overwhelmed. Look for the humor in your life, and allow yourself to laugh.
These are but some ideas for developing greater happiness, and becoming a more positive person. Remember that you will never be happy all the time, nor is it necessary. But by nurturing a happier frame of mind, you can learn to live a more fulfilling and positive life.

The Secret Is Real – Let Good Happen In Your Life – Just Let Go And Let It In
I’m sure you’ve probably heard that using the Secret, the law of attraction in your life is all about where you place your focus. That is true. Can’t you feel the difference in your body when you’re happy as opposed to when you’re sad? Haven’t you ever laughed in the middle of crying? That’s how easy it is to change your emotions, to change your thinking – if you just learn how to do it. The Secret is real and it’s all about learning to let good happen.
What shows up in your life is the positive and the negative. Haven’t you noticed that? There are always, always, two sides to everything – the good and the bad, the negative and the positive. If you focus on the bad, it amplifies. If you focus on the good, that amplifies. It’s all a matter of where you place your focus. If you can follow these seven steps, you can learn to let good happen.
Love and accept yourself unconditionally – This is key if you want to experience the good that is always available to you. If you don’t love yourself, how can you feel good about anything?
Embrace your dark side – Life is composed of negative and positive and so are you. To deny your negative qualities (which you may need to be able to use sometimes) is to repress and resist part of who you are. The very denial of your dark side reinforces its power. You remember the lesson from The Return of the Jedi – love wins out in the end. Embrace your dark side.
Tell a new story – Get off that old worn out tune how nothing good every happens. Start telling the story of the good in your life and watch how quickly your life can change. Make a list of your desires and give it up to the universe. Write it up in a story of how you would like your life to be.
Give thanks – for everything that is in your life, good and bad. Oftentimes our greatest gifts come wrapped in experiences that most consider negative. Look for the silver lining in that rain cloud and give thanks for it.
Open up your heart and be willing to ask the universe for what you really want. Feel what it feels like to have it. Experience it. Walk the talk as if it’s already yours.
Observe and acknowledge your power. Empower yourself and magnetize your desires from the center of your heart. Marry that thought to your positive emotion and send it forth from your heart.
Do it! – Take action on your desires – follow your dreams. All you need to know is how to take the first step, the rest of the path will open up before you as you walk.
I think people are afraid to be open and risk themselves on their dreams. They’re afraid they’ll get hurt. So instead, they stay frozen in their locked cages not even aware that their hands hold the key.
I bet you think that following your dreams is not for you. I bet you’ve convinced yourself that you can’t get what you desire. That is exactly the kind of thinking that keeps you locked in that cage. Look down at your hands – you hold the key. Only you can unlock the cage – because it’s locked from the inside.
