Set your Goals with Confidence
“Who has confidence in himself will gain the confidence of others”. Looking at a successful person, we usually presume that, what had made the person to become so flourishing. The one and only answer to this question would be his self confidence. Without self confidence it is unattainable for a person to succeed in his life or career or whatever the affair it may be. Right from simple things to complicated things, if you need to achieve them, you need to have confidence. People with self confidence generally have excellent skills and are completely self-possessed.
Prior to enhance your self confidence you need to know what does an over confidence and under confidence mean. Maintaining a balanced self confidence is always good for your future. Over confidence is having excess belief in yourself and at the other end, having a least belief in yourself is called under confidence. A person who is over confident usually take too much of risks and finally witness a break down. Whereas on the other case, under confident people don’t even tend to take risks, thereby not giving themselves a single try. With a right and balanced self confidence, you can set and achieve your goals in a genuine manner.
Failures come and go in everyone’s life. It is fairly true that successful people are those, who had experienced the maximum number of failures. They manage to compete in every tough situation with the courage and confidence they have. Each time they face a failure, they do consider it as a challenge to overcome from that. The two major things that contribute to self confidence are self esteem and self efficacy. People with a balanced confidence are probably self esteemed persons. Having belief and respect on yourself would render others to have the same on you. Enhancing your positive thinking could obviously help you in boosting up your self confidence. Being calm and ambitious is the vital quality that one needs to have, in order to achieve his goal. Hard working is an equally important spirit, which assists you in knocking the success door. Once you achieve success, eventually you could feel a confidence building in you. Only this type of confidence leads you to withstand difficult challenges and persist in the face of setbacks.
Too many people overvalue what they are not, and undervalue what they are. This is the foremost blooper that everyone does. If you endeavor in building your confidence, then primarily know your talent and concentrate on things which you excel in. Find out your skills and start working on fabricating your talents. Self confidence builds in you right from your child hood. Parental support and acceptance play a vital role in enhancing a child’s confidence. Parents who encourage and support their children, each time they experience a fall are likely to build their child’s self confidence. Without self confidence nothing is possible. Hence keep in mind that, self confidence is the primary thing that shows you the way to success.

Extra Motivation to Exercise
Some people enjoy exercise just because it is exercise; they do not think deeply about why they enjoy it so much. They just know that it is enjoyable and that it makes them feel good.
Much research has been carried out as to why exercise makes you feel good. Scientific research has proven that when you exercise your brain releases endorphins which provide a feel good factor.
Even walking on a tread mill in a gym has been shown to lift your mood and assist in combating depression. Personally, I find this type of exercise quite boring, and I’m sure many of you are with me on this. But even if you find it boring, it is undeniable that exercise does lift your mood.
Many people become quite addicted to exercise for this reason and also because exercise is linked to a boost in self esteem. You feel more confident and have a greater sense of achievement. Exercise is in fact one of the simplest ways in which you can work to build your self-esteem. You feel good about yourself when you set yourself a task and subsequently complete that task. What could be easier than setting yourself a goal of going for a walk and then doing it?
Exercise of any description undeniably lifts your mood and increases your self-esteem. These effects are enhanced of course when the exercise that you are doing is something which you like to do. You might like to play tennis, or swim, do some gardening or walk the dog. All exercise is beneficial.
I like to play golf. For me golf has a huge number of plusses. I enjoy the walk, be it alone or with fellow golfers, and I also like the mental challenges which the game itself provides. But most of all I love being in a place of beauty, and golf courses do tend to be beautiful. I love the smell of the grass and the trees, the colors of the flowers, the criss-cross patterns on the fairways when they have just been cut, the water and the wild-life. I love being outside and in touch with nature.
Being outside in a place which is natural in itself is a mood enhancer. This too has been proven in scientific research. It makes good sense that there would be added benefit when you combine the two. We know that 2+2=4.
Exercise + nature = Green exercise
Green exercise is the term coined for exercise which is carried out when in the presence of nature. There has been some recent research into this subject (Jo Barton, Jules Pretty. What is the Best Dose of Nature and Green Exercise for Improving Mental Health? A Multi-Study Analysis. Environmental Science & Technology, 2010) which shows that there is indeed an increased or added benefit in terms of mood and self-esteem. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this research is that the boost in both mood and self-esteem occurred within a very short time frame – just 5 minutes.
And so we now know that we can boost our self-esteem and lift our mood in as little as five minutes by doing something as simple as taking a walk in a place which is green and natural. That should be a great motivator to us all to get out and exercise. There was another interesting finding; being near water as well as green leaves and grass could benefit us even more. No wonder I love golf courses so much!

Is Your Exixtence In Life and Business Optimistic or Pessimistic?
What is the difference between an Optimist and a Pessimist? Everyone has heard the saying, “Is your glass half full or half empty?” The optimist always sees it half full and the pessimist sees it half empty. A real optimist will see it as full, half full of liquid and half full of air!
Both optimists and pessimists contribute their share to the world. The optimist will invent the airplane and the pessimist will invent the parachute.
Pessimist
A pessimist is always encountering problems, and instead of trying to solve them, they just throw their hands up and say, ‘That is it, I give up, I can not deal with this anymore!’ They are always seeing the clouds instead of the sunny sky.
They are always living in the, ‘what if’, state of life. What if the sky falls, what if I loose the game, what if I do this and something bad happens, what if, what if, what if! With this attitude it makes it real hard to be around them. They can make others feel depressed and hopeless in life.
A pessimist is so focused on failure, that they really feel there is no way out of their problem.. There is nothing at all they can do, so why try. They think that what is, is what is, so why try to fix it.
They are always trying to bring everyone down to their level and way of thinking. That way they can feel good about themselves. They hate the fact that anyone might be better than they are, so they have no confidence or self esteem. Dr. Phil says they do this because there is a payoff somewhere. What is that payoff? They do not have to take responsibility for their own actions.
Optimist
When an optimist is faced with a challenge, they will find the upside of the situation and then figure out a way to solve it. They focus on what they want and how to get it not what might happen to them along the way.
An optimist is focused on achieving their goals, because they refuse to give up. The word ‘quit’ does not exist in their vocabulary. They are naturally happy all the time, it is always sunny for them, they are full of energy and because of that, they have less obstacles getting to where they want to be in life.
It is real easy to be around an optimist, they even can make you feel happier and more positive about life. They are always looking forward, finding that solution with a positive attitude.
An optimist fully believes that they can make a difference in the world. When they might encounter a loss in their life, they do not just sit there and dwell upon it, they find the good in it and bounce back. They focus on the future.
It is all about attitude! Do you choose to see the bad in every thing and everyone? The bad side of life? Or do you choose to see the good in everyone, be happy and see the sunshine everyday?
Which are you in your existence? An optimist or a pessimist? A better question would be, which do you CHOOSE to be in your life?

Where Dreams Come True: Believing In Yourself
In days where flash floods of doubt sweep me off my feet, I will keep seeing or hearing the words do not give up. They are like small beacons of light. No matter how murky it gets within my world, they shine out unexpectedly, just when I need them the most. Imagine fireflies on a dark night where there is no moon.
Last night somebody was singing a song do whatever it takes to hold on. Things will change. I did not even register the words at first, then they sank in, like a voice calling out to me from far away.
This is what I think. If you have dreams that you have not been able to realize, you have two options. You can either say it is impossible for me or there is something stopping me, something within me. If you say the first you might as well jump off a cliff. I decided long ago to deal with the stuff within me that has got in the way. There was no getting around it, no easy way out, no drugs I could take, no anaesthetic, no mantra I could say.
Truth is truth. You cannot ignore it if you want your life to change for the better. Mostly it is about self esteem and entitlement; knowing you deserve a life that makes sense to you and is fulfilling and exciting to you. Knowing you are lovable at a very deep place way beyond your intellect. Right in your heart and soul.
Big dreams need big entitlement. I have spectacular dreams, but had quite the most ridiculously minimal entitlement and self esteem. Ergo I have a spectacular amount of change to embrace. It takes time – which is not a sign that I am an idiot or that it cannot happen for me. It is a sign of how powerful my dreams are, and how much I have to deal with to be able to see them come to fruition.
I am building a foundation for my good life, moving towards finding fulfillment. Standing up to all the inner messages that say my life is over, who do I think I am, I live in a fantasy world and most of all that I am a fool to desire, to dream.
No I am not. No matter how hard it gets, no matter how real the “evidence” seems to be that the change I long for is not happening, I am not a fool to dream.
I would be a fool not to.

Improving Yourself through Self Motivation
Self motivation is an extremely important part of excelling in life. Everyone needs to have the motivation to get through even the most discouraging situation. After all, if you give up when things get tough, you’re sure to lose before you get done.
So what can you do to improve your self motivation and thus improve yourself? Let’s take a look at a few tips and tricks that might get you through.
1. Find something you care about. If you don’t have a cause to motivate you, it can be hard to keep going. Whether it’s a temporary cause, or a lifelong goal, you can get a lot of mileage out of working towards something that you find important. Come back to it again and again when you find your motivation flagging.
2. Goals are important. You need to have a dream or goal that you really want to meet. Otherwise, it might seem like there’s no point in going forward. Everyone needs a realistic goal that’s still far enough away to challenge them to be their best. Look for goals that stretch your ability without being impossible.
3. Keep goals realistic. Too many people set one big goal and then try to meet it, only to fall down along the way. Stick to many small goals that you know you can reach, rather than one big one that’ll be really difficult. It’s just easier to do things in small steps than it is to try to do everything at once.
4. Don’t compare yourself to others. It’s easy to feel like someone else’s success makes you a failure, or feel like you have to live up to the schedule of success set by someone you admire. However, this is a terrible way to build self motivation. In fact, it’ll generally be bad for your motivation and for your self esteem. Use your own metric to determine success, not anyone else’s. After all, no one else is living your life. How can you assume your progress should be the same as yours?
5. Take it one step at a time. Remember that even when you reach your goals, you haven’t finished the race. So, take one more step, and see what’s beyond that success. If you feel like you’re flagging on the way to a goal, that one more step can help you there, too. After all, if you break things down into just one step at a time, you’ll get there eventually.
6. Never threaten yourself. Some people feel like they have to punish themselves for not reaching goals, but the truth is that this won’t work. Most of the time, it just makes you feel unhappy and afraid of trying. Instead of using the stick, try the carrot. Give yourself a reasonable reward when you hit a mini-goal. It’ll help you feel positively about your journey, and make everything a lot easier.
7. Plan things out. You’d want detailed instructions from a supervisor at work if you were given a task, so why are you willing to work for yourself without them? Write down or plan out what you need to do in detail. It’s like leaving instructions for yourself. Whatever you need to do, it’ll go more easily if you don’t have to puzzle things out as you go.
8. Forget about the past. Too many people dwell on past failures and assume that they’re destiny. This is a terrible idea! Ignore your past failures, and remember only what you’ve learned from them. That way, you’ll be pointed towards success, and have the motivation to improve yourself. It’s amazing what a positive attitude can do for you. So don’t dwell on those old memories – set out to make some new and more positive ones.
It can seem pretty difficult to stay motivated when you’re trying to improve yourself. But the truth is that if you’re careful and you pay close attention, you can do it. Take the time to be organized and set the kinds of goals you can meet, be willing to take it one step at a time, and don’t give up. You’ll eventually reach the point you’re after, and go well beyond it, too. Self motivation is one of the first parts of self improvement.

Beware of “dog eat dog” theory where everyone else is fighting just to get ahead. This is where non-appreciative people usually thrive. No one will appreciate your contributions even if you miss lunch and dinner, and stay up late. Most of the time you get to work too much without getting help from people concerned. Stay out of this, it will ruin your self esteem. Competition is at stake anywhere. Be healthy enough to compete, but in a healthy competition that is.
Dart Pin #2: Other People’s Behavior
Bulldozers, brown nosers, gossipmongers, whiners, backstabbers, snipers, people walking wounded, controllers, naggers, complainers, exploders, patronizers, sluffers… all these kinds of people will pose bad vibes for your self esteem, as well as to your self improvement scheme.

Positive affirmations may not be something you have given much thought to in the past. But, whenever you think, you are affirming! Whenever you listening to your inner self talk you are affirming!
On a daily, even hourly basis, you are continually affirming to your subconscious thoughts that will eventually become your beliefs. Your subconscious mind has taken these beliefs, ever since your childhood days, and developed them into the person you are today!
Working on autopilot, your subconscious will react to any given situation in accordance to how it has been programmed by your thoughts and beliefs. In other words your affirmations. This can of course be very usefull, you don’t need to constantly stick your hand in a fire to know you will get burnt. You learnt this early on and your subconscious stored this information, so you don’t have to keep re-learning it.
That’s all very well and good! But, what about other bits of information your subconscious stored that are no longer in your best interest. You may have programmed your subconscious with information that is actually working against you now! Beliefs relating to money, health, your self esteem etc.
Is there a way to reprogramme your subconscious? In a word, yes! Positive affirmations is a simple process that can be quickly and easily learnt, in fact we probably all know at least one positive affirmation that has been around for decades.
“Every day in every way I am getting better and better.” Remember that one? It’s ages old but sums up what a positive affirmation is.
So what is a Positive Affirmation?
Affirmations are short positive statement used to rewrite, or reprogramme, your subconscious mind to overcome a negative area of your life.
For example, let’s say you have make a presentation to some collegues at work. The more you think about it the more nervous you become. You can actually feel the palms of your hands getting hot and sweaty from just thinking of standing in front of your workmates. What you want, is to confidently make a fantastic presentation, getting your points over in a clear and professional manner.
But, all you can think about is how awkward you will feel, how flustered and confused you will be, and how you’ll make a complete mess of the whole thing. And, if that’s what you’re thinking, and keep thinking it, that’s exactly what will happen! But, to overcome this you can make an affirmation of how you want the presentation to be. Something like this!
“I am full of confidence, I speak clearly, my presentation is a huge success!”
Now you are affirming how you want the situation to be. For this to really take effect you have to repeat the affirmation over and over again as often as you can.
Repetition is the key to success where positive affirmations are concerned.
