How the Law of Attraction Really Works: Insight from the movie Coco Chanel
Do you seek to practice what people call the “law of attraction” so life will give you what you want, and then you can do what you would really like to do?
The movie Coco Chanel suggests a different approach. If its insight is correct, the law of attraction doesn’t work this way. It works just the opposite.
You do what you love, which will grow you into a person who may then draw to you what’s needed to be able to become an even greater gift to humanity.
But, you may reason, how can I do what I love doing if I have to work in a job that isn’t what I want to do?
Let’s suppose you want to write. Well, you do what’s needed to keep the wolf from the door, then you use what time is available after this to write.
If you want to be a market gardener but you don’t have the property or the money to invest, you work at the factory, shop, or office that pays your bills, then plant a small vegetable or flower garden in pots if necessary.
It’s about being faithful in all the little things, which invites life to trust us with greater things.
Did you ever hear the statement, “Bloom where you are?” It’s such a wise aphorism.
To live consciously, fully in the present moment, is to do what is available to us instead of obsessing about what we don’t have.
We practice the “law of attraction” not by focusing on our hopes for tomorrow, but when we do what is on our plate to do today.
Love what you are doing. In its own mysterious way life may then open up the doors for you.
When Coco Chanel first began making hats it was because she had a passion for fashion. Then she worked as a seamstress for someone else—someone who wasn’t appreciative of her and even resented her talent.
In due time her natural flair began to be noticed. Others recognized her gift. No agonizing, yearning, or “efforting” was required to “make it happen.” It just flowed when the time was right.
After she first set up in business, for ten months she was unable to pay her way and was on the verge of falling into the hands of the bailiffs when synchronicity smiled on her in the form of a friend she had lost touch with. Now she had an investor who believed in her.
Being true to ourselves, loving being who we are, prepares us for greater service. We may then attract to us the openings that will allow us to pour our talent out to the world.
As the movie portrays it, Gabrielle Chanel didn’t set out to become Coco Chanel. She was simply a young girl who had always loved making hats, way back into childhood.
There’s a famous line one often hears quoted, which of course occurs in the movie:
How many cares one loses when one decides not to be something but to besomeone.
To be “something” is to have an image of ourselves, then go out to try to make the image happen. It becomes an obsession. This isn’t practicing attraction at all. It’s forcing something.
To be “someone” is to be a real person, true to the love of our life, our unique passion. Life then unfolds in the beautiful flow of consciousness.
More insight from the Coco Chanel movie over the next few days.

The Power of Positive Affirmations
Our self talk is an internal dialogue to creating our world. Allowing yourself to pay attention to your thoughts and start eliminating the one’s that create life experiences you choose not to have. Simply using affirmations and creating your world with every thought and word you speak. Saying affirmations are only part of the process. What you do the rest of the time is equally important.
Positive minds produce positive lives! What a statement. Positive minds always manifest positive results in your personal and professional lives. Every complaint you have is an affirmation telling your life YOU WILL NOT or CAN NOT achieve, have or become. Our point of power is in the present moment. The more you think, see and talk about what you don’t want, you manifest that thought like a seed being planted and the more you talk about it, think about it, talk about it, think about it-becomes your life. The continue negative self talk grows to more not wanting. Affirming and visualizing FEEL it, SEE it, TASTE it, TOUCH it and HEAR it ~ you will achieve what you are working towards.
Guide to Positive Affirmations:
~ Always start with I am or I have: I believe, I always, There is
~ Stay in the present tense
~ Think positively
~ Keep sentences short: 2-3 max
~ Be specific
~ Use (ing) at the end: happening, fulfilling, feeling, smiling
~ Feeling words: joy, peace, happy, exciting
~ Goals in your life: reaffirm
~ Stay in the attitude of allowing: for change, for excitement, for new journeys
~ Stay in the attitude of acceptance: of what is to become
It is almost impossible to belittle yourself or stay angry with yourself and others if you find the treasure in every trial. Negative thoughts are from criticism, fear, guilt and resentment. The words you speak will steal your joy. Every thought you have has energy attached to it that will strengthen or weaken you. These draining thoughts that weaken you are obstacles to creating the life you intended to live. You have a choice. Everyone has a choice to surround yourself with positive thoughts, music, people, scents, TV shows and movies. What ever is going on inside will come out into your environment. Any thought that places a barrier between what you would like to have and your ability to attract it into your life is resistance.
The more you choose thoughts that make you feel happy and refreshed, the closer you are to empowering your life. The way you choose to think right now is just that a choice. No person, place or thing has any control over your feelings BUT YOU.
Questions to ask yourself?
~ How do you feel right now? Good? Bad?
~ What are your current emotions?
~ Would you like to feel better?
Reach for better thoughts. Affirmations are simply choosing to think certain thoughts that will create positive results. When you choose to think better thoughts your mind is clearer-more focused, your health is better-feel better, your attitude at home or work is better, your relationships are better and goes on and on from there. The end result ~ ALL BETTER!
Affirm:
Health
I allow my body to create positive change and return to its natural vibrant health
Love
I am worthy of Love, I have many wonderful qualities to offer the right person
Money
I prosper where ever I turn, I have unlimited income in expected and unexpected ways
Forgiveness
The past is over I am ready to be healed, I am releasing all hurt-I forgive and love
Overwhelmed
I am capable and in control, Gods love strengthens me everyday so I can be my best
Self-esteem
I am beautiful in every way, I have incredible inner resources, I am unique and fabulous, I am confident and believe in my abilities
Our fears hold us back from doing. Moving forward from negative to positive of courage and bravery we can open new doors and empower ourselves. Our personal power will move mountains and solves our problems. When you feel good, good things are attracted to you. Your consistency of performance automatically creates the life you intended to live. By making better choices everyday develops better habits, builds a better person and in return attracts bigger and better opportunities and allows you to contribute more and brings you bigger and better rewards.

Are you living in fear based on your past?
I was listening to Gary Quinn, Abundance Coach to the Stars, as he discussed this topic. And he said most of us are living our lives based on our past. What happened in our last relationship, our last job, our last experience with, fill in the blank?
Does that resonate with you? I got goose bumps when I heard it because it made perfect sense to me. Been there and done that.
Anyway Gary Quinn suggests that if you keep holding on to the fear you’ll create exactly the reality that you don’t want. He recommends bringing yourself into the present moment. And what I got from that was the importance of being present in the right now.
I read Eckhart Tolle‘s “The Power of Now” and it’s helped me become more mindful of the times that I’m not present. Have you ever done an activity and you were so far away in your mind you forgot you had done it? Ever driven and been so preoccupied you went right past where you were supposed to go? That demonstrates you’re someplace else. Come to the present moment. Breathe.
Gary Quinn talks about tapping into the reality of a different future. That you let go of the past and forgive yourself. I’d like to add: forgive those who you feel may have wronged you.
He suggests that you create a statement that makes you feel great. I recommend using these present tense statements to develop a blueprint for what you want.
To do this look at your life and get clear on what you want. Plan for what you want instead of what you don’t want.
Experience the feeling of what you want and live in that feeling all the time.

3 Keys On Manifesting What You Want To Create Easily – The First Key
The First Key is Get Plugged in to Your Power Source. Connecting emotionally is an essential aspect when it comes to manifesting anything you want to create easily in the manifestation process. That is because your emotions inform you if you are connecting from the heart or the head. Being disconnected to your emotions will seem like your life is dull and boring. When you are connecting to your emotions you are in touch with what is going on in your life moment by moment.
Therefore just to know what you want intellectually is not enough because knowing something intellectually doesn’t have the juice and the excitement to fire up the process of creation. It takes a heart connection to manifest what you want to create easily. Emotion is the energy or the fuel that is used to shift your vibration or frequency. It takes the power of your emotions to change things and nothing changes without emotion.
To use a road map effectively you need to have a starting and a destination point. In the same way before you can manifest what you want in your life you must know what is coming up for you in this present moment in relation to manifesting what you want.
Your emotions are the clues that inform you what you don’t want and to know what you want. They indicate what doesn’t feel so good and what feels good in your life right now at this moment. Those not so good feelings will give you the clues that tell you if things are not in alignment, so that you can then decide to access the emotions that will make you feel good. That is how you shift your vibrational frequency by experiencing those feeling good emotions.
Ask yourself what am I feeling right now about this area of concern, whether it be in your finances, in your relationships, your career, your health or anything else. Then notice what comes up emotionally for you. Are you feeling stuck, anxious, fearful, disappointed, and angry or are there emotions that arise within you where you feel that life is pretty good right now?
Remember that your emotions are your internal guidance system. They tell you what is going on inside of you, and they play a big part in your life. They are here for a purpose, so that you can experience a contrast, and to create anything you must have a contrast. The more you are aware of your emotions and the information that they give you the easier it is to shift the vibration from what you don’t want to what you want.
Although you may think that the starting point of your journey is not important or exciting you are way ahead of the game because you now know how to connect and get plugged in to your power source. You will know by what your emotions are telling you if you need to shift those emotions from not feeling so good to feeling good so that they bring you into alignment with what you want to create easily.

Creative Visualisation Techniques
Creative Visualisation is a technique used to create a picture or movie of an event or situation you desire to become your reality. This technique can be used to create either wealth, health or even the perfect relationship. But it must be done correctly!
Follow the techniques below to get you ready for visualising:
Find yourself a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. Five or ten minutes is ideal although the longer you can give it the better.
Relax, either lying down or sitting in a chair, and close your eyes. Roll your eyes upward as far as they can go without straining them.
Begin to breathe in deeply through your nose and breathe out through your mouth and let your body relax. Remember to keep your eyes rolled upward. Continue like this for as long as it takes for your body to become completely relaxed. Having your eyes rolled upward like this will bring you into the “alpha state” more quickly.
Think back to a time, or place, of strong positive emotion. It can be any thought that brings
the feeling of happiness, joy or love. It might be recalling the birth of a child, passing an exam or even a family get together or holiday. So long as when you recall the thought you are left with a positive feeling of either happiness, joy or love.
Recall the emotion you felt. What did you hear? What did you smell? Remember as much as you can, and make that memory and emotion as real and as strong as possible. Make sure it is a positive emotion you recall!
Once you have this memory fixed in your mind and you can feel the happiness, joy or love cursing through your body it is time to connect that emotion to your visualisation.
So you can now begin to run through your creative visualisation. It is particularly important when you use creative visualisation that you see it as being real, in the present moment, as if you already have it.
Whatever you want in the future you have to visualise enjoying right now.
Take the example of wanting a new car.
Now, don’t just picture this car, visualise your hand reaching out and opening the drivers door. Visualise the inside of the car as you slide into the driver’s seat. See you hands on the steering wheel. Smell the newness of the car. Hear the music filling the car as you turn on the cars CD player to take a test drive.
You see now what I mean about detail. The more detail the better.
You are in effect the director of your own movie with you as the star. Do not become just an observer, sitting back and watching yourself in this movie. You are the movie. In other words what you see, hear and smell is the movie.
Personally I have found the latter technique works best for me. I am living the movie, what I experience is the movie.
Visualise the scene at the car showroom when you pick up your new car. Shaking hands with the salesman, opening the car door, sliding into the drivers seat, smelling that new leather, starting the engine, hearing the engine rev up as you press the throttle. Waving goodbye to the salesman and driving off with your new car.
You have to make this experience as real as possible! Really believe that you own this new car. Really feel the strong positive emotions you would feel owning this new car!
When you use creative visualisation this way the strong positive emotions energise your thoughts with such a powerful frequency the Law of Attraction returns those thoughts back to you as reality, far quicker than if you just consciously thought them.
The mind cannot distinguish between what is real and what is not, so if you use creative visualisation with such reality and emotion then your mind cannot believe it is not the real thing.
The more you use Creative Visualisation the quicker things will happen. It is best to visualise on a daily basis! Twice a day if you can. After all you are directing the movie of your new life so why wouldn’t you want to watch this movie as often as possible? But don’t make it a chore, this should be something you enjoy doing.
Collecting pictures of whatever it is you want is also a good way to help this process along. Let’s go back to our example of a new car, once you decide which make and model it is you want, visit your local car showroom and get as many brochures as you can.
Then simply cut out the pictures you like the best and stick them into a scrap book, or even better, stick them onto the fridge door or a cork board so that you can see them every day. Get pictures of what the car looks like from the outside, pictures of the dashboard and steering wheel. Pictures of the seats, the headrests – as much information as you can. This will all help as you visualise sitting in the car.
It should be easy to visualise all of this and turn it into a movie because you cut out all the pictures and studied them so you know what every bit of what the car looks like, inside and out.
Of course it doesn’t have to be a car you visualise, it can be the perfect golf putt, owning the house of your dreams, or even having the perfect relationship with your family.
Whatever it is you want, use creative visualisation to get it. Put in as much detail and emotion as possible so that when you close your eyes to see it you really do believe it.
