3 Factors That Make Procrastination Worse
I have a confession to make – here… today. I am a recovering procrastinator who sometimes finds myself going back into bad habits. Say, for example, I have a fifteen page paper due in eight weeks. I will wait until 2 days prior to the due date before even starting the paper. The worst part about procrastination is that it is contagious. Since becoming infected I have influenced those around me to delay the start date of their projects.
My procrastination has actually effected other areas of my life. If I am asked to show up somewhere at 3:00pm I will generally arrive at 3:05pm (on a good day). Most of the time I really have no reason to be late. For a while I could blame it on my small baby, but now he is 2 and it’s not as socially acceptable to blame it on him anymore.
Anyway, here are some things I’ve tried that absolutely do not work. I share them with you, in case you suffer from procrastinatia (we’ll call it that for the sake of this article). Now, maybe you can avoid these techniques, save yourself some time and address the root of the problem.
Getting up early
Sure, it seems like a sound idea. I will just wake up in plenty of time to do everything I have to do. The odd thing is I will always find something else to do, just long enough that I will be late. Oh, there’s another sock to pick up. Whoops forgot to start the laundry. Oh, I’ll just scrub these two dishes. (I’m making it sound like I live in a very dirty house – ok, no arguing there.)
Accountability
I am a procrastinator (say it out loud). I put things off until the last minute. I’ve been accountable for years, but still no chance for improvement. I think denial may have at least gotten me a few places on time or submitting at least one term-paper before midnight the night it was due.
Keep a calendar
Ah, anticipation. Certainly if I know it’s coming up I will prepare ahead of time. Wrong. I’ve even logged down to the last minute each and every, baby step I needed to take to complete a project and what happens is – that’s right I actually procrastinate the baby steps until I look at my calendar and realize that I haven’t completed any of them.
The only logical way I have come up with to possibly make sense of my procrastinatia is hedonism. Hedonism is the seeking of pleasure and the avoidance of pain – whatever it is, I have it and there’s no cure. The only solution I see is to find a profession where there are no deadlines or where deadlines are not enforced and where they do not expect you to show up on time – ever. Best of luck to me.

How To Use The 11 New Law Of Attraction – A Powerful Force In Your Life
The 11 new law of attraction is a powerful way to harness the energy of the subconscious and of the world around you to use to bring what you desire most your way. Many people, however, are lost when it comes to actually using the 11 new law of attraction in a practical way to get what they want. How can you make sure that you’re in charge of what happens to you – and that your intentions are going to bring you what you really desire from them?
Remember, first and foremost your mind controls everything that happens to you. Your own mind, your conscious thoughts are what command your subconscious. Since it’s your subconscious that activates the 11 new law of attraction to bring what you truly desire to you, you need to be giving your subconscious the right message. It’s vital that you bring your conscious thought in line with what you want.
Start by letting go of the past. You need to live in the present with an eye towards the future. You want to be getting insight and direction for what to do in your life now. You want your subconscious to clearly see what your future should look like – so it’s vital you get over the past. Our past gives us important lessons. So stop, look for those lessons, and let go of the rest. Take the lessons forward into the future with you. But plan to use the life you have today to make the most of your tomorrows.
Next, look at your beliefs. Your beliefs effect every part of your life. If you believe that you’re always late – guess what, your subconscious is going to make sure you’re always late! You must change your beliefs to change your life.
Start by coming up with an affirmation about being an on time person. Say something like “I am prepared on time. I arrive with plenty of time to collect myself and look my best.” Sit back and imagine yourself arriving on time for something – for work, a meeting, a dinner date, etc. Hold onto this image and play it in your mind’s eye whenever you’re beginning to worry about being late. Imagine the feeling of peace you experience – how you feel collected and organized, ready to meet the challenges that will face you. Whenever you worry about being late, say your affirmation and bring up these images and emotions. Your subconscious will begin to believe that you are this on-time person, because it believes whatever images you feed it with emotion (whether they are true or not).
You can apply this powerful principle to any beliefs to reverse them and condition your subconscious mind. It will take time and effort, but it’s worth the work. If you find yourself clinging to some beliefs persistently, look for further help. Finally, remember that the 11 new law of attraction contains another word within in – Action. If you want to fully control and reap the powerful benefits of the Law of Attraction you must take action! As you change your beliefs and your thoughts, your subconscious will begin to send you plans, people, and circumstances that will align you with your desires. You must recognize these things and take action on them. When you see an opportunity, take it! Take the plans you’re given and follow them through – you will find that you harness the Law of Attraction and use it to reach your goals, dreams, and desires.
