How to Attract Happiness
I wonder whether you noticed an article by the columnist David Brooks in the New York Times entitled the “Sandra Bullock Trade”. It certainly caught my eye as it focuses upon the interactions between personal and professional success with levels of happiness.
Over the last few decades much research has been carried out with regards to the science of happiness. A state of happiness is after all what we would all wish to experience. There are many different and varied goals which we might pursue, but ultimately the thing which we seek through any of these diverse routes is happiness.
One of the many pieces of research has identified that to achieve professional success does not necessarily mean that you will achieve corresponding levels of happiness. But success in your personal life, in your marriage or close relationships, does provide a good indication of happiness. More money might lead you to greater happiness, but not necessarily so; a good relationship is far more likely to pave the way to happiness (and also longevity, but that is another story).
So why are so many more people in this day and age apparently so fixated upon their careers and monetary goals, seemingly oblivious to the potential negative impact upon their relationships? It seems that we are searching for happiness in the wrong places and perhaps it is time for many of us to take a step back and view our lives from a different angle.
This can however be hard to do when we live in a society where our self confidence, self image and sense of achievement is often measured by what we do as opposed to who we really are. Our sense of identity can become blurred and indistinct as our professional persona grows larger and our inner self takes a back seat. As time goes by it becomes easier to live with that persona as it becomes more familiar to us, and frequently shields us from our inner fears and doubts.
Many of us reach a point where we do not want to let go of either the trappings of a successful career or the persona of that successful professional image. But if it is not making you happy or, worse still, standing in the way of your happiness, then it is time for a change. When one reaches such an insight, it becomes important to strip away a few of those superficial layers and look instead at ones inner reality.
Hypnosis is very helpful in this process as it allows you to access your subconscious mind, the part where instinctive thoughts and behaviors are stored. In effect, hypnosis allows you to take a step back and see things from a different angle. Hypnosis helps you to relax in the moment and to experience happiness at the same time.
We know from research findings that to be in a good close relationship is a better indicator of happiness than anything else. Thus the most important thing to focus upon so as to attract happiness into your life is the area of personal relationships. In creating deeper and more meaningful bonds in your personal relationships you will derive far more happiness than from professional success.

Corporate Goal Setting – Monetary Goals, Material Goals And Job Goals For Your Career
What does goal setting
refer to in a career context?
In a career context, goal setting can refer to several different things depending on your overall goals (obviously!) and what you are trying to accomplish in your career and in your life in general:
Your goals might be short term or long term or a combination of both. Hopefully you’ll be planning for the long term while realizing that short term decisions may help or hurt your ability to reach the longer term goals you set out for yourself.
Here are some types of goals you might set for yourself related to your career. Corporate Goal Setting
Monetary Goals
How important is money to you? Certainly we don’t work for free but for many people there is more to life than simply the amount of money they earn.
On the other hand there isn’t necessarily anything wrong with goal setting that relates to the salary you want to earn by a certain age or the amount of money you want to have in the bank by that time.
While it might be easy to say that “I’d do that job for a $100K” there are some jobs that might not be worth the hassle, the stress, the grief and everything else that goes along with it even for that amount of money.
Some jobs on the other hand might be ones you’d do for free…or thereabouts. Obviously you’d have to really love that sort of job to suggest you’d do it for free but finding a job you love can go a long way to reduce the importance of money in your career. Corporate Goal Setting
Material Goals
Related to monetary goals, you might have goal setting in place that relates to material goods that you want to acquire in your life.
Maybe you want to own a house(s) and have a nice car(s) and a summer home(s) and other things by a certain point in time. Certainly your earning power will determine your ability to reach certain material goals you have set out for yourself.
Your career decisions – such as the jobs you accept, the education level you achieve and the companies you choose to work for – can go a long way to determining whether or not you have the means to achieve your material goals.
If not, you’ll need to figure out whether your material goals get lowered or if you need to increase your income and if so, how. Corporate Goal Setting

Visualizing Success With The Law Of Attraction
Visualizing the success that you want is one of the most powerful features of using the Law of Success. The power of direct, focused visualization is one of the guiding forces in attracting positive results. However, most people need to practice their visualization technique in order to see success with the Law of Attraction.
Visualizing Clear Goals
Instead of having vague goals of success, practice visualizing much more specific ones. Rather than seeing your business larger, see your business in terms of specific monetary goals. Picture how the business will look when this goal is reached. How will it change things? How will you feel about it? How will your life change for the better? Picture all of these changes as clearly as you can.
Make the effort to see that goal every day. Close your eyes and visualize it clearly until it looks like a movie playing in your mind. That clear picture is what you will put your positive energy into achieving.
Attracting Positive Energy
When you can see your specific goals and what the success looks like, you can begin believing that this vision is of your future. Believing in that future is what takes you down the path to actually achieving it. That positive energy attracts other positive energy, bringing you closer and closer to your goal.
To keep attracting this positive energy, let your positive visualization become your guide. When you hit an obstacle, keep that goal in mind and find away around it. By keeping your focus on that goal and believing that you will eventually get there, you will not be tempted to give up when you hit a wall. You will instead simply find another way to succeed.
Banish Negative Energy
Everyone is in danger of letting negative energy keep him or her from succeeding. Even with positive affirmations and goal visualization, a bad day can invite negative thoughts that attract negative energy. To succeed with the Law of Attraction, it is vital to banish those thoughts before they take hold.
To keep these thoughts at bay requires learning a new outlook. A positive mindset will allow you to see negative occurrences as lessons instead of as roadblocks. Every negative instance does teach us a lesson, and those lessons are a part of our road to success. With the Law of Attraction, every experience is something that helps us on our way to meeting our goals.
With daily practice, visualization can help you to see your success so clearly that you are excited about your future. This excitement and positive energy will help you to reach any level of success that you can visualize for yourself. Eventually, that vision will be the present and you can enjoy the fruits of your success.
