Abandon 'Impossible' and Embrace 'Possible'

How often do you find yourself saying ‘impossible’?  It’s impossible to ace the exam.  It’s impossible to get promoted.  It’s impossible to lose weight.  It’s impossible to make more money.  It’s impossible to enjoy radiant health.  It’s impossible to achieve balance in your life.  It’s impossible to do what you love.  When in reality, it’s possible.

If you always think that certain things are not possible or not within your reach, you will attract the very thing you always think of.  If you program your mind to expect dismal outcome, then dismal result you will receive.  Whatever you want, it must first appear in your thoughts, be held in your mind and most important of all, you must believe with your heart and soul and feel in your bones that you can attain.  Your external reality is a reflection of your internal reality.  If inwardly you do not believe you can, then ‘what you do not believe’ will be manifested outwardly.  Likewise, ‘what you believe’ will also be manifested in your life.

Say if you have wanted to lose weight and have not been successful in your previous attempts.  You gave up hope.  You believe that it is not possible to lose weight.  That you need to live with your weight problem forever.  Now, what you can do is to abandon ‘impossible’ and embrace ‘possible’.  Find a quiet place free of distractions.  Be comfortable.  Tell yourself that it is possible to lose weight.  That you will achieve your desired weight in its best possible time.

Visualize yourself in the desired outcome.  Picture yourself in your favorite jeans and smiling radiantly in the company of your family and friends.  Engage the power of affirmation.  You may wish to use this affirmation or suitable ones like ‘ I am fitting easily, beautifully and happily into my favorite jeans in its perfect time‘.  Affirm at least twice a day, once in the morning and once before you go to bed.  Surround yourself with favorite pictures of yourself or your idol in nice fitting jeans.  Display them as screen saver and on your desk.  Stick them on your mirror and fridge.

Now that you have reprogrammed your mind to transmit the correct signal into the Universe, the latter will pick up from there, perform divine work to re-orchestrate events and re-shuffle people to help bring about your desired goal.  Your job is to take the next small step towards your goal.

There are many ways to lose weight.  The easiest way is to reduce consumption and increase metabolism.  Before you begin, make your plan fun and interesting.  Give your plan a name.   You may adopt ‘My little exciting ride from XL to M’ or any name you have in mind.  Write the name in a notebook.  Monitor your progress.  Date and record your current weight.  You are now ready for your little adventure.

Reduce consumption.  Change your serving size.  Start with 20% less against your usual serving.  Be persistent.  If you have a habit of taking excessive junk food, make an effort to reduce consumption by at least 50%.  Instead of a large pack of fries, ask for a small pack.  Instead of having a big tub of ice cream at one go, be contented with two scoops at one seating.  Alternatively, substitute your craving with healthy food or snacks.  Meanwhile, drink lots of water, at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day.

Get active.  Get moving.   Burn more calories.  Clean the house,  do gardening, take the stairs instead of the elevator and  create opportunity to walk some distance instead of having the vehicle sending you right to the doorstep.  Take morning or evening walks, go hiking, join aerobic, learn dancing, play a game or two or do any thing that you enjoy that requires movements.

Monitor your progress every 3 to 4 weeks.  Follow up diligently.  Be inspired by your progress even if it is showing small result.  Every bit adds.  It only takes time.  Be patient.  Reward yourself for every pound lost.  Once it reaches 20% of your desired target, celebrate and have some fun.  Keep your focus on your goal and eat and live in alignment to your goal.  Do research and find out other ways to manage your weight.  In no time, you would have completed your little adventurous ride and emerge from the train smiling radiantly in your favorite pair of blue jeans.

Goal Setting Strategies – New Goal Setting and Achievement Strategies

Goal Setting Strategies

In theory it doesn’t matter where you are if you want to make changes in your life. However in practice it is vitally important that you choose the time and place which seems right for you and what you want to do.

If you know exactly what you want to do and how you will do that and yet you’ve been procrastinating for ages and saying ‘it’s not the right time to make those changes at the moment,’ then perhaps you need to think about where you are and where you would like to be.

Just being in a different place can change your mood and the way you view the world. When you want things to be different it can be a challenge to try to imagine doing that different thing in the same place as you are at the moment. You often need to excitement of being in a different physical place in order to experience a different emotional place. Goal Setting Strategies

So if you feel stuck in a rut you can try:

thinking about what to do while you stand in a different part of the same room. Even this subtle shift of place can have a profound effect on the way you understand a situation. If that isn’t much help then go to a completely different place. Go out for the day to somewhere entirely differently and take a walk while you consider your options and what you could do. This is best done on your own or with a non judgmental companion who will allow you to talk about the pros and cons without trying to put their own pointy of view onto your musings.
deice on your very first simple step you must take on the way to the big changes you would want to make. Doing anything differently can help move you forward and stop you from reaming stuck.
do something different which doesn’t seem directly related to your desired outcome but indicates you are getting ready for change. Perhaps you could have your hair cut in a new style or buy an item of clothing in a colour different from that you wear usually. Anything which might indicate to your subconscious mind that you are preparing yourself for change.
take some more exercise because this releases endorphins which will calm you and help you gain a new perspective on your life and thus be more able to make the changes you want.
stop worrying about the possibility of failure. Although it’s true that you won’t fail if you never try, it’s also true that unless you make a start you will never be able to achieve what you want. Goal Setting Strategies

How To Get Motivated – 5 Simple Techniques

Learning how to get motivated is something that would save many a lot of wasted time and would definitely help boost their feeling of well being. There is no doubt the sense of accomplishment helps boost your spirits but often a lack of motivation keeps us from experiencing this euphoric feeling. Normally what motivates you is the anticipation of the results you will experience from the efforts you put forth. The biggest obstacle however seems more times than not to be just getting started. Therefore in order to be motivated to take the first step towards many undertakings we must develop or learn new habits.

Here are 5 simple techniques you can use to overcome that lack of motivation that limits your productivity and often robs you of the sense of accomplishment.

There Is No ‘Perfect” Time

There is no better time than the present to begin on that new project you have been putting off for months. Many wait for the ‘perfect’ time in which to start on something and this is nothing more than an elaborate way of procrastinating.

In fact the most perfect time for you to tackle a new project is when you finally overcome your lack of motivation to simply take the first step. Conditions will never be any more perfect than at this point in time.

Just Do It!

Another factor that inhibits us from taking action is we spend far too much time thinking about what it is we want to do. The problem here is that this ‘thought process’ can raise several questions as to why the project should be delayed. Whether we have ‘created’ doubt due to time constraints or even our own abilities we are now on the road to procrastinating.

The best approach here is to simply get involved with this new undertaking immediately and as you see progress being made this motivates you to continue your efforts.

Put Your Thoughts in Motion

Your thoughts are the plans you intend to put into motion to realize a desired outcome. Well what good are these thoughts if you never take action on them?  As you develop your plans in your mind allow yourself to be motivated by the anticipation of the outcome and start immediately implementing these plans. Once again the first step is always the hardest but after that it is all ‘downhill’ from there!

Overwhelm Fears by Taking Action

Another common reason for ‘putting off’ projects or tasks is due to a fear of failure. As strange as it is many people feel that doing nothing is better than trying and failing. The fact of the matter is that in most cases our fears of failure are not justified except in our own minds. By taking action and becoming more familiar with the task at hand our confidence soars and this motivates you even more.

Do Not Delay – Start Right Away

Get down to business immediately once you have decided to take action. It is all too easy to first check email or perhaps the news before getting deeply involved in your work. Both the news and your email can and will wait for you to check them. It is more important to take advantage of the time and your energy level while you have plenty of both to use.

Learning how to get motivated to undertake many projects is more than half the battle of successfully completing them. In most cases what motivates you to pursue any worthwhile goal is the anticipation of the results you will experience from the efforts you invest. A common obstacle for many however is just getting started. Fortunately it is possible to learn new ‘habits’ that will enable us to be motivated enough to overcome this ‘getting started’ barrier. The 5 techniques we spoke of above can be easily learned and adopted into your ‘mode of behavior’ allowing you to accomplish more and enjoy life to the fullest.

Joy Trumps Massive Action

There are several circumstances that kick us into high gear. That gear where your mind says, “OH MY GOSH!! I’ve got so much to do to make this happen.”

Some circumstances that my clients report massive action overdose are:

Cash-flow crisis
Giving presentations
Moving
Preparing for a long vacation
Launching a new business, product, or service
Creating a website
Hosting a party
Business travel
Preparing for a child’s birth
Handling the affairs of a deceased friend or family member
Selling a house or business

So, I’m sure being the mover and shaker that you are, you can add many more action stimulants to this list.

It is very important to avoid the frazzled state that comes with massive action overload. You may be asking yourself if this is even possible. Not only is it possible, it’s a crying shame to have it be any other way than an easy, flowing process to get the job or preparation done.

You have to start with a bit of strategy. Always start with the end in mind. What is your ideal outcome for this event or project? How do you want to feel during the execution of it? It’s not okay with me that you get all amped up in a negative way when you have something big in front of you. Totally unnecessary. Really!

Next, you’ve got to write all those actions down. Get them out of your head and on to the paper. Don’t delay this step. You instantly feel grounded by making a list. Then, check to see if all of your action items are congruent with your ideal outcome.

Delete any actions that don’t really need to be done to get your desired outcome.

Can you delegate any items? I know this one is hard for all you do-it-yourselfers and don’t-want-to-impose-on-anyone types.

Now, after all that is complete, you have to make a decision that you’re not going to worry about getting it all done at this moment. In fact, you need to make a decision to do the things on the list that will give you the most relief first. Then go for the ones that seem easy or fun. Don’t get attached to the order in which you “think” they are supposed to get done..

You see, you feeling joyful or at ease while being in action is the only thing that will make this job get done in excellence. It will also keep you sane. Feeling good trumps massive action when it comes to manifesting things in a speedy and delightful way. And if getting the job done with ease isn’t one of your ideal outcomes, then you need to shift your tolerance for pain. The easy way out is always the best way.

The Power of Focus or The Lack of It

Did you ever stop to think why your finances are out of control or jus non-existent? It is generally due to the lack of focus.  People do not realize that the mind is a powerful tool that can be used at your command and the way to use the mind it to concentrate or to focus on your desired outcome.

If you constantly focus on what you don’t have you will continue not to have. If you focus on what you can’t do well you cannot do it. If you focus on the lack of anything then that is what will manifest because your focused thought is what you are planting in your mind.

I love the Law of Attraction in its simplest form because it is much easier for people to understand and to absorb. “We become what we think about all day long!” If you do not believe me then try and focus on something negative and keep that thought for the first part of your day, watch how more negative things keep coming to you because the more you focus on negative things the more and more you will see it just keep showing up from nowhere. Now if you want to shift your focus, start to concentrate on something positive for the remainder of the day, happy thoughts from your past, or something you want in the future, just keep positivity in your mind and watch how one good thing starts to just start to happen, then another until you are just in such a great mood that you just want to jump for joy!.

The point is that your mind is a magnet it will attract to you whatever you focus on, there is no exception to this whatsoever. This is also true if you lack focus. If you just don’t concentrate on anything well anything is liable to show up. You may say you want to grow your business, you may say that you want to do a lot of things but if you do not have a set desire and determination on how to get what you want you will never get it.

What this all boils down to is the power of focus or the lack of focus is what can make the difference in everything that you do in life. Start to focus today on what you want and see the difference in your life start to unfold just because you want it to!

Please share your comments below, on how and what you focus on. I would love to hear from you.
