The Simple Truth about Creating an Amazing Life
We meet all sorts don’t we. And we’ve all got our own story to tell. And sometimes that story’s inspiring and engaging… and sometimes it’s not.
Is your story inspiring or not?
If you do the uninspiring story thing occasionally that’s okay. I mean, I do it, usually when I’m having an off day. And we all do this to a greater or lessor extent. We need to. Without the uninspiring and unengaging we can’t really get to know the other facets of life.
But what if you do the uninspiring, unengaged story thing too often. When we engage in the mundane and monotony, and the poor me, life has a tendency to become like the story we’re telling.
So, a few weeks ago, when I was telling myself a whole load of gloom, I caught what I was up to. At which point I yawned out loud – which was slightly embarrassing because I was in a long queue at the time.
But in another way that was good. The lady in front of me turned and smiled. “I’m glad to see I’m not the only one that’s fed up,” she said.
Now I thought this was outrageously funny. Her story was that she thought I was bored of the queue and expressing my feelings. But I was just bored of the rubbish I had going on in my head at that moment. Yawning out loud was just my way of saying to myself, “Kindly shut up and tell a more inspiring story.”
What’s more, by the time we got to the front of the queue, I’d become such good friends with the lady, she offered to pay for my drink! How amazing!
Having spent the best part of 8 years writing stories, I know how easy it is to create whatever narrative I want. I know I can just as easily write the victim as the hero. And an actor will tell you the same thing – he can just as easily play unfortunate as the amazing.
And that’s what we’re all doing all day long, writing the narrative or playing out the role according to the act we’re choosing to play.
A few months before my 40th birthday I woke up tired and fed up. I had this crazy story going on about being 40 in a couple of months and thinking about all the things I should have done by now. And I started to feel depressed – as only a pending birthday with a zero in it can do.
But then I rewrote the story. Life begins at 40… look at all these great things I haven’t experienced yet! I got on the Internet, Googled pictures of what I wanted, made a wish list, then started to rewrite the story, as though it had already happened and I was looking back telling it to my great grandchildren!
I’m not attached to having this outcome either. I mean, I don’t mind if things don’t work out the way I imagined. What I do know is that I wanted that day, and every day I live, to be happy and adventuresome.
And that’s not to say I’m not grounded in the reality of everything that’s happening around me. I’m very aware about my goals and roles and I’m also clear that I’d like to have a damn good time during the journey.
Where are you at with the story and the journey?

How Firm Shapewear And Full Figure Shapewear Changed My Life
You may wonder why I talk about shapewear as much as I do. This is a pretty in-depth story. So sit tight.
Well I’ve always loved Oprah. I mean who doesn’t A down and out woman rises to fame to go on and conquer
TV becoming one of the most richest people in the world. It’s only reasonable that an ‘overweight’ woman that ‘decided’ she would conquer the world and did conquer
the world (quite literally) would become an American Icon.
So I wasn’t a super thin little girl. OK maybe I wasn’t huge,
but when everyone at school was trying to stay under a hundred pounds, my one-hundred and twenty five pound weight definitely made
me feel insecure. So naturally I didn’t frequent the popular teenage
spots that most young people frequent, namely malls, swimming pools, school dances and other social situations which necessitated
cute, tiny clothes. I just avoided all
social situations which might force me to wear clothes that stuck to my frame and increased my self-consciousness.
So when everyone was out being young and restless, I was sitting at home and watching reruns of Oprah on the local tv station. Let me tell you- I loved
Oprah.
So of course, I was screaming and jumping for joy
when I watched an episode of Oprah which had a woman named Sara talking about her brand Spanx! . She’s talking about footless
pantyhose, slimming apparel, and much more. So I Google her. And I find the answer to everything I’ve ever wanted- full figure
shapewear! I feel like I’ve discovered gold! As I frantically search the web for more information I realize that there’s something like full figure shapewear
has existed since the 18th century. In the 18th century slimming apparel was called the foundation garment and was worn under long dresses. Basically the corsets and the brassieres of the
18th century are comparable to today’s firm shapewear. Today’s shapewear isn’t uncomfortable, it’s smooth, light
and feels as if you are wearing nothing. In fact, contrary to popular perception, when I wear firm shapewear I don’t feel
constricted at all. I feel light and without a care. I sit straighter now, which makes my brain work better at work, I go on many more dates and I basically look great
at all time.
And you wouldn’t believe, once I got my confidence, I began to want to look EVEN better. So basically, once I started wearing firm
shapewear, I began to want to push my body to improve. I started going to the gym instead of eating out at lunch. I engaged in healthier eating habits due to an increased
love of my being. I stopped drinking alcohol. I quit smoking. All I needed was that feeling of ‘not worrying’ constantly about my weight. Slimming
Apparel did that for me. Once I was comfortable in my clothes I was able to completely transform my lifestyle.
Well you could say that it was
actually Oprah who changed my life. Since I would never had scoured the internet for everything shapewear had it not been for that legendary Oprah
episode.
So tell me. What was it that transformed my life?

You can become great! by © 2010 Shishir Srivsatava, Author, Motivational Speaker and Peace Educator
You can become great!
‘The person who is certain to advance is the one who is too big for his place, who has a clear concept of what he wants to be, who knows that he can become, what he wants to be, and who is determined to be what he wants to be.’ —Anonymous
After World War II, a small group of people gathered with its leaders in a burnt-out departmental store in devastated Tokyo. They had nothing but the strong belief that they could develop technologies that would help rebuild Japan’s economy, which had been destroyed by the war. Those twenty people had the conviction that even though Japan did not have sufficient natural resources, it did have the necessary people-power.
The company they founded amid the debris was Sony, an immense success story today. What kept Akio Morita, the CEO of Sony Corporation, going was the Power of Self-confidence.
Self-confidence is an attitude which helps to build a positive and realistic perception of ourselves and our abilities. It is about expressing our assertiveness, optimism, enthusiasm, affection, pride, independence and trust. Though we may be inspired in a moment to achieve something great in life, self-confidence is not built overnight. It is the affirmation and reaffirmation of positive and self-empowering beliefs. Our self-confidence is shaped by what we repeatedly tell our subconscious mind.
The law of self-confidence says that whatever you believe with certainty will become your reality. If you repeat something over and over to yourself, your subconscious mind starts believing it to be real. It cannot distinguish between positive and negative things. If you say to yourself ‘I can’t', it will believe it; if you say ‘Yes, I can’, it will believe that too.
‘Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or later, the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.’ —C.W. Longenecker
All great achievers, all self-made millionaires and anyone who ever achieved anything worthwhile started with self-doubt. Most of us begin with doubt and an inferiority complex. Every man or woman who has ever achieved anything worthwhile went through a phase where they had little or no confidence. But they did not give up. With courage and faith in themselves, they one day set out on the long journey towards their goal.
Be it an interview, an examination, an instance of public speaking or anything else, you can ‘feel’ the situation you are about to face—and, more important, prepare yourself for it—beforehand. The more you put yourself in real-life situations, the more your confidence will grow and the better your performance will be. So practise, practise, practise and your self-confidence will get a boost.
Self-confidence is formed through positive beliefs. Self-confidence comes through repetitive affirmation. It is strengthened by positive thoughts that give us courage and confidence to do things right. As you start believing in yourself, your self-confidence builds up.
Two Action Steps:
Step 1: Say to yourself daily in the morning as you get up: I’m building upon my self-confidence today and feel myself changing and improving each day.
Step 2: Say to yourself daily before going to sleep: I dream and have confidence in my dreams. I believe I can fulfil my dreams.
Success Mantra: Have full confidence in your powers. Keep telling yourself that your future will evolve just the way you want it to—and that this will happen sooner rather than later.

Having Your Back Against The Wall Could Be A Good Thing
Many individuals are so frightened about moving out of their comfort zones that they never have the chance to see any growth within themselves. They have the safe , secure job and live in a mindset of making spare time their first priority. They are not chasing their dreams because they lack the belief or motivation to make the dreams become reality.
As Brian Tracy writes, the average person seeks to do what is fun and easy, instead of doing what is hard but necessary. Their days at work are spent doing as little as possible with the only plan of getting through the day so they can then be in a position to enjoy their free time. This individual is satisfied to work for somebody for the remainder of their life so as to be able to pay their mortgage or rent, and other bills.
Because they have a guaranteed income every week ( or whatever the pay period is ) they have no fear of loss to drive them towards better things. This worker perspective is holding so many folks back from achieving great things in their lives. Workers all around the globe are demanding as much money as practical while at the same time doing as little as possible for the employer. But this is not exactly surprising given the undeniable fact that the standard system pays folk per hour, not per productiveness.
If you strip these folk of their pay checks and comfort zones then a completely new attitude takes over. All of a sudden they have no option but to discover a way to make some money to put a roof over their heads and to pay the bills. The guaranteed income stream has vanished and the panic sets in to discover a solution.
In this point in time there are a large amount of ways that people can replace their income with a little bit of creative thinking and a lot of incentive. It is terribly inexpensive and easy to set up a genuine business online in a short period of time. Life is short and will be lived to the full, not spent aimlessly killing time pretending to be helpful to the supervisor.
Without the comfort of having a guaranteed income you’ll find that you have no option but to make it work, and you will be committed to doing what ever it takes. It’s a hard idea for the majority to accept, but working as a worker severely limits your options and gives you a fake sense of security. If you put yourself in a discomforting situation that has no guarantees, then you’re far likelier to take the action wanted to get the required results and to stop depending on a pay check.
Folk are lazy to use their brains to find solutions, and are sometimes thrilled to accept the straightforward but unfullfilling jobs that are out there. A job will never make you rich and will forever make you a slave to the govt, the banks and your employer. The present day problems of leading edge technology, outsourcing and recessions make it even more important to learn the abilities of business.

The Wanderer: Part 1 of 73
The Wanderer by Callie Roos, motivational speaker and author
Part 1 of 73
The white stinkwood tree broke right down the trunk. Three parts,” I say to Xaba. “It’s so depressing. It was the biggest tree in the garden. The children used to swing on it when they were small. Good memories. Maybe it signifies something?”
“What?” asks Xaba. “The tree falling over…. I am turning fifty this year, you know.” Xaba peers at me, considering the thought. “Since when do you believe in such nonsense?” he wants to know. I wait for him to say something. There is silence for a while, then he reacts. “The tree just did what it had to do.”
“What’s that?” I ask. “Move on,” he says. “What do you mean?” “Everything moves…. on. Look around you. Everything you see is moving. Nothing stands still.” My eye catches the chair I inherited from my grandfather, a particularly beautiful chair. It is more than 100 years old and fragile. I don’t really want anyone to sit on it anymore, in case it breaks. The chair is also moving on, I think. “Everything is on the move,” Xaba interrupts my thoughts. “Even you. You are getting older. I can see that you are changing. You are different these days.” “What do you mean?” I ask. “More obstinate!” he retorts. “Why are you giving me a hard time now?” I want to know. “We are talking about the white stinkwood.” He smiles as though he had just been waiting for the right moment. Xaba is the first to begin speaking again. “People want everything to stay the same. No change. Keep everything as it was in the old days – if only we could go back to the way things were. But it does not work that way,” he says. “It was not meant to be like that. We were made for only one thing, and that is to be able to change. To move on.”
“Scary!” I say softly. “And now that is the one thing that wears us down the most. We fight this thing, the one thing we should really be good at,” says Xaba “… and that is to change, to just move on.”

The Power of Positive Affirmations
A cliche that you usually hear from a movie or television show is, “It’s all in the mind.” When you hear this statement, it is being suggested that all the things that happen in your life, every little thing that you experience is brought about by your thinking. Yes, your mind is a powerful source of eventful situations. This is not unknown to many, especially to the people who have successfully made history in the world.
Positive affirmations are a facet of a law that governs the universe. This law has been here since the world began and it is connected to the minds of every human being. The law of attraction is the universal law that governs you and every other individual on earth. This law states that anything you conceive in your mind can easily be achieved. The law of attraction exempts no one; each person is under the power of this law.
What does this law have to do with positive affirmations? How does this bring about the mishaps in your life? Imagine that your mind is a magnet that attracts every small thing that it thinks of. Visualize yourself thinking about your troubles all throughout the day. What does your mind do? It attracts negative things so they happen to you. When you think about problems more than positive affirmations, more problems come to you. When you put yourself on the negative side of things, they crop up more and more. That is how the law of attraction works.
Now, how are you going to make the law work in your favor? The answer lies in positive thinking. The solution is in prioritizing favorable thoughts more than negative ones. Envision yourself having paid your home mortgage or having been promoted at work. See yourself successful and feel like success is already in your hands. Repeat these thoughts over and over until you vibrate them to the universe. Soon, the universe is going to give you what you attract. Soon, all your positive affirmations will be transformed into reality. That is exactly how you can let the law work in your favor.
The power of positive thinking has been proven for years. Many successful entrepreneurs and journalists have made their money using only these positive thoughts. The law does not work like magic; it is a law that works enigmatically
If you want a rational explanation of these things, here it is:
When you focus yourself on positive affirmations, you do not only attract them to come to you; you also begin to act to get these things done. When you put your concentration on these things, they become part of you and you become them. This is the ultimate reason why you should think of things as though you already have them, so that they become part of you and you achieve them.
The same thing works for negative thoughts, but since these are detrimental for you, they should be thrown out of the window. If you let positive thoughts govern your life, there nothing that you cannot have.

Improving Yourself through Self Motivation
Self motivation is an extremely important part of excelling in life. Everyone needs to have the motivation to get through even the most discouraging situation. After all, if you give up when things get tough, you’re sure to lose before you get done.
So what can you do to improve your self motivation and thus improve yourself? Let’s take a look at a few tips and tricks that might get you through.
1. Find something you care about. If you don’t have a cause to motivate you, it can be hard to keep going. Whether it’s a temporary cause, or a lifelong goal, you can get a lot of mileage out of working towards something that you find important. Come back to it again and again when you find your motivation flagging.
2. Goals are important. You need to have a dream or goal that you really want to meet. Otherwise, it might seem like there’s no point in going forward. Everyone needs a realistic goal that’s still far enough away to challenge them to be their best. Look for goals that stretch your ability without being impossible.
3. Keep goals realistic. Too many people set one big goal and then try to meet it, only to fall down along the way. Stick to many small goals that you know you can reach, rather than one big one that’ll be really difficult. It’s just easier to do things in small steps than it is to try to do everything at once.
4. Don’t compare yourself to others. It’s easy to feel like someone else’s success makes you a failure, or feel like you have to live up to the schedule of success set by someone you admire. However, this is a terrible way to build self motivation. In fact, it’ll generally be bad for your motivation and for your self esteem. Use your own metric to determine success, not anyone else’s. After all, no one else is living your life. How can you assume your progress should be the same as yours?
5. Take it one step at a time. Remember that even when you reach your goals, you haven’t finished the race. So, take one more step, and see what’s beyond that success. If you feel like you’re flagging on the way to a goal, that one more step can help you there, too. After all, if you break things down into just one step at a time, you’ll get there eventually.
6. Never threaten yourself. Some people feel like they have to punish themselves for not reaching goals, but the truth is that this won’t work. Most of the time, it just makes you feel unhappy and afraid of trying. Instead of using the stick, try the carrot. Give yourself a reasonable reward when you hit a mini-goal. It’ll help you feel positively about your journey, and make everything a lot easier.
7. Plan things out. You’d want detailed instructions from a supervisor at work if you were given a task, so why are you willing to work for yourself without them? Write down or plan out what you need to do in detail. It’s like leaving instructions for yourself. Whatever you need to do, it’ll go more easily if you don’t have to puzzle things out as you go.
8. Forget about the past. Too many people dwell on past failures and assume that they’re destiny. This is a terrible idea! Ignore your past failures, and remember only what you’ve learned from them. That way, you’ll be pointed towards success, and have the motivation to improve yourself. It’s amazing what a positive attitude can do for you. So don’t dwell on those old memories – set out to make some new and more positive ones.
It can seem pretty difficult to stay motivated when you’re trying to improve yourself. But the truth is that if you’re careful and you pay close attention, you can do it. Take the time to be organized and set the kinds of goals you can meet, be willing to take it one step at a time, and don’t give up. You’ll eventually reach the point you’re after, and go well beyond it, too. Self motivation is one of the first parts of self improvement.

How to Attract Happiness
I wonder whether you noticed an article by the columnist David Brooks in the New York Times entitled the “Sandra Bullock Trade”. It certainly caught my eye as it focuses upon the interactions between personal and professional success with levels of happiness.
Over the last few decades much research has been carried out with regards to the science of happiness. A state of happiness is after all what we would all wish to experience. There are many different and varied goals which we might pursue, but ultimately the thing which we seek through any of these diverse routes is happiness.
One of the many pieces of research has identified that to achieve professional success does not necessarily mean that you will achieve corresponding levels of happiness. But success in your personal life, in your marriage or close relationships, does provide a good indication of happiness. More money might lead you to greater happiness, but not necessarily so; a good relationship is far more likely to pave the way to happiness (and also longevity, but that is another story).
So why are so many more people in this day and age apparently so fixated upon their careers and monetary goals, seemingly oblivious to the potential negative impact upon their relationships? It seems that we are searching for happiness in the wrong places and perhaps it is time for many of us to take a step back and view our lives from a different angle.
This can however be hard to do when we live in a society where our self confidence, self image and sense of achievement is often measured by what we do as opposed to who we really are. Our sense of identity can become blurred and indistinct as our professional persona grows larger and our inner self takes a back seat. As time goes by it becomes easier to live with that persona as it becomes more familiar to us, and frequently shields us from our inner fears and doubts.
Many of us reach a point where we do not want to let go of either the trappings of a successful career or the persona of that successful professional image. But if it is not making you happy or, worse still, standing in the way of your happiness, then it is time for a change. When one reaches such an insight, it becomes important to strip away a few of those superficial layers and look instead at ones inner reality.
Hypnosis is very helpful in this process as it allows you to access your subconscious mind, the part where instinctive thoughts and behaviors are stored. In effect, hypnosis allows you to take a step back and see things from a different angle. Hypnosis helps you to relax in the moment and to experience happiness at the same time.
We know from research findings that to be in a good close relationship is a better indicator of happiness than anything else. Thus the most important thing to focus upon so as to attract happiness into your life is the area of personal relationships. In creating deeper and more meaningful bonds in your personal relationships you will derive far more happiness than from professional success.
